Should I be rinsing my reels off after use?

Look forward to some opinions.
Yesterday, as always, I lightly rinsed off a couple of my reels - one Shimano and one Daiwa with fresh water after a bit of use and thought it would be a good idea to give ‘em a proper clean on the inside as well. On inspection of both reels I found some of the fresh water had found its way inside of the spools (this can’t be good?), creating a milky liquid under the drag knob of the Daiwa (fresh water mixed with some of the reel grease?). I thought what the hell? I tighten all of the drags right up when I rinse them so how could it of gotten like this? It made me think - should I be rinsing my reels off after use? Since I started fishing I’ve always rinsed my reels off after a bit of use and have never noticed this before - although I’ve never serviced my reels directly after being rinsed which is probably why.
Look forward to some opinions.

always
always was my gear and give them a touch up with grease, looks like new. Never soak them, find a touch of washing liquid kills the salt

What reels do you have?
What reels do you have? Several have waterproof drag and use a rubber seal. Makes sense that the standard ones would be a little more susceptible to water in the drag by comparison.

Wash down!
All rods & reels should be washed down!
Reels need a slow water pressure clean to get rid of salt and yes some fresh may get in but so does salt. The key is to wash down, drain off & service periodically!
Doesnt matter if you have a waterproof drag or not, wash down & maintenace is required. I wash my reels down with light water pressure from a hose with the drag done up a bit tighter than normal. I then shake the reeland spin it/wind it and get rid of the loose water 9shake up-n-down). After that i back off the drag and periodically i give it a spray with Innox or a tackle spray like Satt Eliminator etc.
I store my reels that way and dont forget the periodical servicing, that is preventative maintenace!

definately give them a rinse
definately give them a rinse off then use a product called salt off then wipe off with a cloth to stop any water marks and every second trip give them a mild service with grease or slick of oil and also rinse and wipe down the rods as well,if you spend good money on your gear makes sense to look after it

always wash my rods n reels
always wash my rods n reels down with warm soapie water n a fresh rinse of fresh water.. always loosen the drag.. and a touch up of grease but dnt dnt overdo the grease it will clog up the washers. i grease about every 3 months or so... reels have lasted 15 years and still look brand new... ditto with the rods... so it pays off to look after your gear.
