Heard some reports off salmon schools around. from capel down through to eagle bay schools were seen not big but 5-7 kilo. Also mates off mine went down to marlamup and caught 8 decent size ones there...
Good singns lets hope they come in thick this year...

You regularly hear
19deg be thrown around as the 'magic' number for Salmon.

I had a flick on Sunday, my first day off in 3 weeks at my favorite beach in between margs and cape leeuwin...
Long and short of it the fish were on the chew, some nice herring and tailor landed, but had a big hook up on my favorite lure which was lost to a monster - this was no ~2 kg tailor either that we get, fought like a train and I'm calling it as a salmon, not small either. Water felt warm still, and hopefully the next couple of weeks see some more rock up.
I've also been keeping an eye on those water temps, has been cooling slightly and we're due for some cold fronts to brush past cape leeuwin over the next week, I'm slightly optimistic and crossing those fingers as vintage will be over by Easter and I'll have plenty of time to toss a few lures out!

Heading down to Bremer Bay
Heading down to Bremer Bay next weekend - any thoughts around whether the salmons schools will be past by that point? Worth still going to Bremer or maybe change it up to Albany or Margs?

Mandurah?
I'm hoping to have a crack at them off the rock groyne at Dolphin quay, is it worth a shot there? I live about 5 minutes away, but never caught anything decent in the 4 months I've been here for - hopefully the salmon should turn up there?
I'll do some lure shopping shortly, just in case ;)
