I have one I use it on my lure rod for tailor, have been pretty happy with it. The drag goes from 0 - full in one turn and it distance casts well. Comes with 2 spools also
What type of fishing do you want it for
wanna use it for small sharks mulloway etc just need something to get out a lil further have looked at the saltiga surf aswell but may be a little out of the budget unfortunately
Matt I would rate the emblem pro as a more sturdy reel (I have both) but the emblem pro has a higher retrivel rate which can be a benefit if fishing over a rock ledge but disadvantage on a car bonnet sized ray. I use my emblem as a bait/sinker surf cast reel and the windcast as my 15kg popping reel Can't comment on the emcast as I have never used one, they are a bit cheaper so maybe there is a reason and yep I would say windcast sits in the middle
I also have the saltiga surf. If you want a spin reel for heavy surf fishing then this is for you. nothing else I have used compares to the smooth cranking power the saltiga surf has.
Aniother cheap option is the penn 850. I had a shimano baitrunner pack up on me a few months ago and used the 850 while shimano were mucking around with it and was pretty happy with the performance of the penn (chinese model) sure its not light and it doesnt have 20 ball bearings but it does the job.
I have recently switched to casting overheads in the surf which has been really successful so far, just another option

Hey Rig
how would you compare the Windcast to the Emblem pro or Emcast Plus? Somewhere in the middle?
