Hawks did whats needed, put the foot down, showed the comp whos the boss and then backed off to keep the top 3 draft pick heading our way so we can trade in a gun ready made player like a Patton or Vickory...

While I'm sure some will enjoy seeing the Hawks ( possibily the greatest team of the modern era ) have a flat spot I wouldn't take too much out of this year...
Coming into this year I thought on paper they had a great list with plenty of depth, not the A graders like an Eagles or a Richmond but certainly good enough to contend...
Simo I have no doubt a fella like yourself would suffer tall poppy syndrome but I wouldn't be getting too carried away just yet, the same team you think will be at the bottom of the ladder fucked your teams hopes of another flag last year with a final game drubbing in the West to steal top 4 from the Eagles...
Since then the Eagles have parted way with 2 x top round draft picks to secure Kelly...
A few cracks seem to be just starting to show with the Eagles and while I wish them luck they could very easily slip outside top 4 again...
Some of the guys at the Eagles are getting on now and if they dont get a flag this year who knows when their next crack at it could be..
I understand Simmo you are probably an anti vic wanker ( or just a wanker ) and its not a personal thing with Hawthorn ( or perhaps 2015 was too much for you ), anyway good luck to your team, Hawthorn have certainly had a good run and perhaps you are right perhaps they will be cellar dwellars long into the future...
I'm just curious as to why you think Clarkson should have got out while he can?? Have you ever thought maybe he likes the challenge of coaching, mentoring youngsters etc... My way of thinking with Clarkson is that he could very well enjoy this stage of his career equally as much as winning each week, the challenge of having to come up with a new way and blood new kids etc...
Was good to see the Crows have a win, they've been through some crap so its good for the coach and some of the youngsters to get a win under their belt albeit against the Hawks...

I'm not weighing in on most of it but as an Eagles supporter I agree the Hawks are probably the best team of the modern era. As an old Geelong boy they broke my heart in '89 and then as an Eagles supporter in '91. Dermie said on the record we were the best team in '91 but the occasion got the better of us. Doesn't matter because the Hawks took the silverware. 2015 is one I would prefer to forget except for Hodgie's laid back goal from the boundary which was cruel but awesome!
Geez it sounds like I have a chip but I genuinely appreciate how good they have been

They had them on toast about 36 points up when he intercepted a kick in and ran in and kicked a goal over the opponent's head.
I think this season is a bit of an anomaly, but don't take that as an excuse for the Hawks.
Whoever wins this year certainly deserves it.
Simo has proven himself to be a Cock so I wouldn't expect anything except shit dribbling really.
