permision from minister of war and finance for new toy

Hi Fellas
the misses has cut her own throat and decided that we dont have to go overseas on holidays and I can buy a new boat at xmas.
Im looking for a few ideas what would be suitable in the Albany area within a 15k budget. I have had a few boats before but only in the pilbara where the are mainly mangroves creeks ,small swells and heaps of islands to hide behind.I hoping for something between 4m to 4.7m but have no idea what to expect fishing wise down south.

cheers

solly

My heart says ali but my back wants fibre.I guess the hip pocket is going to decide the final choice .This is going to stretch the relaionship because Im already looking above my budget.Really like the look of the bluefin barracuda with a 60 4stroke on the ass but it 5 grand more than I have.Steesle trucks are not bad either.

Boat Choice

My preference would be for fibreglass as well.. Definately a lot more comfortable in southern waters, especially when the seas come up.. Have fished out of an ally and fibreglass out of Walpole and would take fibre for ride and smoothness anyday..

As you say thou, really comes down to price and what you want to do with it.. and ofcourse, engine reliability in a 2nd hand vessel.

Yeh a nice 60 4 stroke would be nice.. As long as its not too heavy to get up and haul some ass if it starts getting nasty out there..  Spose the biggest thing really is getting the experience up.. Had a blokes boat we went out on down there that was 21ft with 115 brand new honda 4 stroke, but instead of charging he was sitting in the lulls and surfing them... one of the most scary rides home i've had when the boat just picks up and throws, not fun at all!
