Pacemaker 17ft sounder read at speed

Call out to any Pacemaker hull owners.

Looking at purchasing an 87" pacemaker hull (17ft ), 100 4 stroke, runabout.

What Transducers are you running? TM or shoot thru hull ?

Any issues with getting and holding a good read at speed in 50-100m?

Keen on any feedback good or bad.

Thanks,

DD

I have a 18 foot pacey and had so much trouble with placement that I ended up installing it in the sump. I loose ground at 35m but it is only with a raymarine Dragonfly so cheap gear. I have only ever been out there once so no big issue for me.

I would loose bottom at about 13 knots and now hold into the 20''s depending on the sea state.

Certainly not as much clarity but it does the job. I can see fish on the bottom (whiting) in 12m of water.

I have a 21ft pacemaker and to be honest it's been a royal pain in the arse to get my transducer set perfect I run a TM258 transom mount transducer I find the hull design naturally causes alot of turbulence of the water I'm getting an alloy block made so I can adjust the transducer in the water as I live so far from the coast but this could also cause more of a turbulence issue. I'm almost happy with where it's sitting and it may be as good as I'm gunna get after adjusting it numerous times in the past couple years I loose bottom at about 15-16knots  sometimes sooner depending on conditions but picture clarity is perfect uptill about 12-13 knots .

Good luck
