Night fishing

Just wondering how the catch rate compares during the night as to fishing during the daylight hours.
I know some species like tailor & mullas are far better dusk/dawn/during the night.
But if tide, moon ect. conditions were equal, can anyone tell me if Dhuies, Pinkies, Skippy and the likes, are hungrier, same or forget it during the night hours
Question 2: Do Wrasse ever sleep?

pass!
Across the board Jody i dont rate night fishing and do better during the day. Small fish & shitfish dont seem to be an issue at night however and i've got some good dhufish & pink snapper whilst drifting. So its a general pass for me but its an eary buzz none the less and do-able in the cray offseason!

Hopefully I'll be able to
Hopefully I'll be able to organise a Nightfish this time when the Pots come in.

i try doin a lil bit
i try get out at nights. couple years ago when i was heading out a fair bit we did well on dhuies. used to head out while the sun was up head out plot a way throught the obstical course and head out to the five. we would then mark a few pots aorund some nice lumps and wait. once the sun was gone and there was litle wind we would head to the marks an d drop baitsnear the pots and bang on. one night the ex was out with me and she pulled three dhuies in ten mins from one group of pots. had fun and interesting. i have been out wider than that and done well on small pinks just on dusk but then once the sun went it shut down completely, headed in to the five and bang on again. i like night fishing but it is hard to pick your days and with so many cray pots its hard you need to stay in an area close to your path through.
