Hi all

New to jet ski fishing and wondering if there is a jet ski fishing club that I could join ?

Looking to learn  from experienced jet sji pilots - where to go - what not to do etc

My Son Daniel and I (Darryl/Daz) recently bought a jet ski off of my good mate - purchased all the toys - now we need to learn the ropes

chat to you soon

Welcome aboard.  Maybe you should change the title of your thread to include the word Jet Skis?  There are a few keen jet ski fishos on here that I'm sure would be willing to help out.  Use the search function and see what you can find.  Good luck.

welcome boys, where are you located mate? I get out fishiing on the ski a couple times a week when the weather is good. Usually launch in Cockburn Sound somewhere. Best catches to date from my ski are 2x 6-7kg 80cms+ Pink Snapper in the one session, 2x 5kg Salmon, 61cm 2kg Tailor, and a mate and i took out the Jetski division in the Calamari Classic late last year.

Welcome Daz

Hi Daz, Welcome to the site, Sorry that I have been a bit quite guys, been having some issues to deal with. Anyway, there are a great bunch of JetSki Fisho's out there but not all of them are on the forum, Many of them are not really interested in joining forums and posting posts etc.

We do not have a club at this stage, too much to handle at this stage. We use the forum to share info and exchange ideas and so on. There are a few posts on here already that you can search. Keep watching the forum as we will post any competitions that come up. Have not yet arranged a JetSki fishing comp but as we get more fisho's we can look into it some time in the future.

What ski did you buy, have you got a rig etc. Post us some pictures on the web.

Cheers

Hey Wickedkev there's a dedicated Jetski forum on Fishwrecked with local information. Look under Forums in the Strike zone on the left. The jetski forum is towards the bottom of the page.

hey Kev, theres plenty of fish to be found in cockburn sound without having to go too far. Where are you based and where do you launch from? I usually launch from either woodmans pt, kwinana beach or plam beach, just depends what im targetting.

I am based in Gosnells, The 2 times i have gone fishing I launched at point peron, I didnt like the boat ramp at kwinana beach the ramp is very shallow that i nearly had to drive the whole car into the water and not sheltered when the sea and wind picked up.Point Peron has all the facilities , wash down bay and a fish cleaning table which i havent had the opportunity to use it as you need to catch a fish first

Cockburn sound boat ramp (the one thats closest to Garden Island) is THE best ramp i've used. Theres 8 or so ramps all with recently built finger jetties. Ramp is not steep or shallow and is easy to launch with a car. Very protected on the worst of days. I've heard stories about stuff getting stolen in the car park but i've never had problems and I've been using that ramp for about 5 years.

Good spot to try and some nice fish to catch. Might be a bit far from Gosnells?

(But i don't fish from a jetski)
