Hi mate,
Bummer about the boat, my advice as a non WA raised person who has also moved over.....buy the best sounder you can afford and spend time searching for structure as deep as you can safely go.
seabreeze.com.au is a good site for watching the weather
Good luck :)

Welcome mate
Good scooping and drop netting for crabs in the peel estury mate. Just use bait holders in your drop nets, as the blowies will eat your bait in no time. No special spots as you will see come Jan, when there are floats everywhere!

Welcome
Welcome Pluto, as the others have said, fill in your profile and keep a look out on the site, theres usually a fair bit of info on areas where to fish. Otherwise use the search tool on the left hand side, you can find lots of gold information from the early days.
Cheers,
Adam

Hi Christian Where are you from originally?
The crab season is a little way off yet. But there are plenty down Mandurah way and in the Swan when it warms up a bit. The big Mulloway should start turning up in the Swan over the next few months also.

Welcome Mate, Mandurah is
Welcome Mate,
Mandurah is my old stomping ground!!! born and bred there, now just north of rockingham now.
Plenty of spots about esp for your sized boat.
Point peron / Safety bay best ramps to use.
Both these ramps have close reefs / islands not far out. Good places to target Tailor, herring, skippy and plenty of other smaller species.
From safety bay there is some good weed grounds hold good squid out straight from the boat ramp, not too hard to find.
However with the Safety bay ramp, might pay to follow another boat out, gets a bit shallow in some places.
Point peron you could get to 5 fatham bank very easily in your boat, just check the weather first. This bank is on almost all GPS charts. Get good skippy, Pink snapper, a few Dhu's, samsom fish of all sizes, big king george whiting and more.
Crabbing need right time of year. Best place to start in the Mandurah Estuary. Just get some drop nets from a local tackle store, best bait is splien from the butcher.
I believe there is going to be another closure this year?? someone might be able to confirm, which from last year was 1st sept to 31st OCT and im pretty sure they are in place this year aswell.
But after this the crabs will start to turn up. They are usually smaller earlier int he season, but around xmas and into Jan they get much bigger.
Need anymore info just ask!!
