New Tairyo Nano rods
Submitted by thebrett on Sun, 2012-06-17 18:21
just been looking at these new rods and its incredible new technology the carbon nano tube, it has outstanding physical property for example its 100 times stronger than steal and 6 times lighter & 30 times stronger than carbon fibre, I was told by the owner of complete angler that not many stores are selling these rods and because of the recent tsunami in Japan they have been getting these rods at a very cheap price.
just wondering what's your thoughts on these rods and if anyone has got one and if they are good, cause might go get one

Good rods
I know Jamie (Till) has one and it looks great. Nice action and extremely light.

I have the 8-10kg model and I really rate it as a caster. Mine is paired with a Shimano Sustain 4000FG. I got mine from Brenz at the Fishing Shop up in Woodvale.

Well, depending on what you call big poppers, no?

I had the 8-10kg teamed up
I had the 8-10kg teamed up with a Stella 5000SW running PE 2 and I got landed a 2m or so Sailfish. Then it was stolen... Go back a few weeks in the reports to read to full story
Great rod at a very good price and I would buy one again for sure

I bought the 8-10kg model to mainly use as a bit of an all-rounder rod for when I head north. I match it with a 5000 Stella and have been very happy with it. It has pulled in a couple of decent sambos down here, as well as all the usual demersal species up north. With casting, I have successfully lobbed out stickbaits and the medium rooster poppers (60g i think). Last time i was up north, I managed to pick up a big red and 80cm spanglie on a 180g Evergreen Caprice, so it has even done well in that regard too!

7' Tairyo Nano Speed Plus
7' Tairyo Nano Speed Plus would be the latest model IIRC. Dave at Dunsborough Outdoor Sportz has a good range if you're down that way.
