You must slice it thin and cook it fast . We just dust it lighly in flour and cook it in a mix of butter and oil for about 2 mins if that, comes out tender or cumbed and deep fried for about 20 seconds but the trick is cut it thin.

As you said Russ, perserverance is what fishing is all about. You might'nt get a bite for ages - then beauty, a great double header. Good onya young fellow. Wait till you get to Exmouth.

Dean, no i don't believe i over cooked it, around one minute each side.

Russ, thats what i did wrong i am sure of it, some pieces were as thick as a steak, thanks for the tip.

Does anybody soak squid, cuttly in milk ? i have never tried it myself, makes it more tender i was told,,cheers,,,

best for taste

i find the best way to cook it is cut thin dust in flour and cook jn a bit of butter for 20 to 30 secs always tossing around so as not to stick to pan tastes great and nice and tender
