Marlin and sailfish skirts and teasers

Well having never fished for marlin or saily's and with the FW comp in exmouth fast approaching I was wondering what everyones favourite skirts and teasers are. I will be stocking up on all this gear when I fly home from work so any input would be great.

Moldcraft

Moldcraft are pretty good, Bobby browns and chubby chuggers.  Richters are also very good, oscar juniors and soft grassy's in any variety of colour (never know which is going to work on what day)

As for teasers, I run a williamson mullet teaser with a few can's in front of it for extra chug.

Depends on what line class

Depends on what line class your running..

Black Bart Cairns Prowler in Black over and rainbow underskirt

Black Bart 1656 mini angle in YFT colour

Those two for 10-15kg

And the like of Richter Zulu's or Pakula Sprokets/Animals in lumo are good for short corner on 24kg

Braid or mono

Is it better to use Braid or mono on th reel for chaasing bills. Heard that mono is better because it has a little give in it when the fish run at you then turn around

Depends how big the fish

Mon, 2009-03-16 20:58

Depends how big the fish are, what line capacity you need etc etc.

There always the top shotting option on 30s, 50s, 80s and 130 sized reels fill it up with a km (dependant on reel size) of dacron top shotted to 100m of the preferred line class.

Otherwise yeh just fill the spool with your line class just make sure you have atleast 500m
