Harvey Dam - camping
Submitted by Jase123 on Thu, 2014-09-18 20:44
Hi everyone,
Planning a trip to Harvey Dam tomorrow. Just wondering if camping is permitted around the dam?
We were planning on arvo/evening session and a early morning session so camping would be prime!
Heard there are a few trout about, is it best to look for weed areas or grass banks?
Cheers!
Jase.

I was there a couple of weeks
I was there a couple of weeks ago and the rangers came around and despite the signs saying No Camping told me it was ok to camp there if it was just a small number of people. They will kick you out if your a large group, making heaps of noise or chucking your rubbish about. I guess they are trying to avoid what often occurs at Logue Brook Dam and Waroona on the long weekends when the places gets trashed.

Cheers all the feedback! We decided to just camp at Logue Brook and head to Harvey in the morning.
Pity we missed out on a trout though! Just a few redfin to get the stomachs happy.
