Gladstone?

Now that I am more or less based at Wooramel, chasing a rough area to fish out of Gladstone.

The only time I have put the boat in there was to tow a dinghy in that had broken down on Christmas day in 2014 and only had to travel about 1nm to do that, so any suggestions are most welcome.

Living at the roadhouse so its only a 20km drive down. Still trying to find a track directly to the coast so don't have to worry about tourists nets when chasing a few mullet for bait and to smoke up.

Never fished as far over as gladstone, but we find around faure island channels in the flats that hold good blue lined emperor estuary cod and cobia.  Sometimes tusk fish.   You can see a few on google earth over that way but you wont find them on a chart because they are only about 100m wide.  Depth generally drops from 1.5 m down to 5 - 7 metres.

Launch and retrieve are easy, solid limestone to drive out on and drop trailer wheels down a hole or over a small ledge.

drifting

I stopped at Gladstone once and drifted in a small tinny with no sounder but was lucky to go over a channel and drift down it and the bite was full on with mulloway and black snapper going off
