Gatsey
Pretty sure Gatsey won. His boat nearly sunk (well... was taking on a lot of water) and yes he was towed in by real teaser at about 9.30pm till the early hours after thinking he could make it back to the marina for repairs. Yes he lost a whole day of fishing fixing it. They did get a 500lb fish, and 3 or 4 on the last day. He also put $3500 on himself in the calcutta. (I should have too as I predicted it on here)
As for the rest of the info, was meant to go to the presentation night, but had enough of it all by then and went to a mates bbq instead. Sure I can find out more, but just glad its over for another year, the ramps are back to normality, well, for a week anyway. :(

other stories
Other stories, one boat had a 110kg black marlin jump in the boat green, luckily it was a 7m sailfish cat, so they had a bit of room to get out the way. Other stories were a 139.7kg black marlin being hung on the last day, which went to waste... Got photos but don't think its worthy of posting.

drag out the smoker
they taste great smoked. No need to waste a fish like that even if it died at the boat.

raised 19 billies,hooked 10
raised 19 billies, hooked 10 tagged 5 .boat i was on came 5th for tag and release section.didnt see a fish on 3 of the 6 days so pretty happy with our result.mate got runner up angler tag and release his boat also tagged a 175 kg fish .boozhag a first time gamex fisher got best first timer with 2 tags one sail big fish 60kg and one rat black about 40kg.the boat i was on got a prize for sail fish tagged day 5. i drooped 3 fish in the course of an hour and a half .the second being a donkey of a fish well over 100 kg hooked on the short corner to so he wasnt far of the boat when going mental jumping and cartwhelling before spitting the hooks .caught a shit load of dolphin fish which on any other trip would of made our day but not this trip.got rotten a few nights and i think each person on the boat managed to make a dick of himself on the turps at least once which made us all feel better cause we all had a crack at it haha.was a good trip but to get a better result you have to fish HARD AS...we stuffed a few things up time wise and are the wiser for it.didnt get any real action shots pics as i was on deck clearing gear and tagging .4 of the five fish i tagged iwas happy with the possie i got the tag in. one,, well not so good tagged in the ass so to speak,, .straightened 2 hookes on seperate fish which had the whole crew baffled as they were both on a very reputable lure brand and not big fish ,maybee between 40 to 80 kg . all up im keen to go again next year i had a fat time and learnt a lot and with a bit more practice on swith baiting techniques hope to up the %rate of hooked and tagged fish from 50% to around 75%
have to admit it getts the heart going when a 100kg plus marlin is on the end of your rod looking like a wild angry angry BEAST of a thing lauching out of the water time after time .if they could only roar like a lion that would just top the whole visual experience off perfectly
