Fishwrecked's February Food Fiesta - Competition
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Sun, 2009-02-01 12:47
Hi Guys and Girls,
I've thought about a new competition for February, that being the best presented seafood dish which will be voted on by members. Organise your seafood delicacies (cooked or uncooked) into a beautiful platter and take a photo and submit it to the site with the title FebFoodComp - 'Entry name'. The winner of the comp will take home a cook book (any suggestions on a good one appreciated) and a fishwrecked pack. Look foward to seeing your entries. Here's a great example from GrahamM.
Cheers,
Adam

Great Idea Ads
Very culinarily creative
I don't suppose a carefully opened Lean Cuisine container of curried prawns (read shrimp) would do it?

Here's the chilli crab I just had for dinner. Also had beer battered herring fillets, but the photo was crapola haha
If we can hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

do you cook the crabs first and then add to the sauce or use raw crabs and cook them in the sauce? Anyone?

Chilli Crabs
What a great shot. Very artistic.
The fun is in the eating here. Bibs are essential as is a plastic table cloth and a set of nut crackers. I used to dine at a German restraunt in Sydney in my younger days and they served mud crabs like that. Boy; did we make a mess.

Very messy to eat, that's true Vince, but worth every tablecloth stain!
Had sauce dribbling down to our elbows eating this.

Gotta credit Daisy with the recipe here...I just added a can of tomatoes to the mix to chunkify the sauce.

My Salmon Recipe
This a great restaurant style dish and very easy to do. It also works for Mulloway cutlest and other large fish. It's minus the dressing here.

Can get it from anywhere
Can get it from anywhere Rog, the own catch may make a difference in the voting, but if you make up for it with a fine dish, I'm sure no one will care.

Hamelin Bay Crayfish Laksa
This cray was caught Saturday morning and along with a few of his mates contributed to the evening meal at camp for six adults.
Thai cray laksa was cooked up in a wok on the old camp gas stove. Entree of sliced green Ab quick fried in garlic butter was gone before pic could be taken!
Enjoy;
Cheers Pete

Jeez Pete, shaving your chest for the comp is going a bit far mate.
Beautiful looking meal, have raised the stakes somewhat.
Any last minute entries? Even though it is March, we aren't playing for sheep stations. Will put up a voting comp on Friday.

Its too late but I'm putting
Its too late but I'm putting it up because I've been so lazy with crays. They taste so good they don't need much beat up and most have been downed with a little olive oil and lime juice.
