Warranty regardless??
A myth? So you have to send the reel back overseas then they send it back to you. So freight cost you extra. Or do you expect the local retailers to then take care of it and give it to reps and follow it up. Saltist is a Daiwa.

Sorry for Hijackng the thread!
Fisherman1992, sorry for hijacking the thread. They are good reels and haven't seen any complaints. I'd encourage you to buy local ( I am biased as I'm in the trade).
As far as warranty etc each company states their stance clearly on their respective websites. \
Good luck and tight lines.

You do know the Saltist
You do know the Saltist 6500 is a high speed reel??
What do you intend to use the reel for??
We've now got the new Exceller 6500DA and 4500DA in-store. Identical reel to the Saltist but in low gear ratio. Great for jigging and bottom bashing.
FIY regarding warranty......have a read.

$299 at Anglers Spot in Willetton
or if you're going online, which you're not based on the thread so far, MoTackle is always good for a low price... Saltists aren't that much cheaper ATM but they've got some good discounts on Shimano reels.

Just watch the grips' on the
Just watch the grips' on the handles, i purchased a Saltist 6500 for GT popping and within the first 10 casts the grip was working loose, a couple more and it came off.
easy to put back on mind you, seems there thread locking agent isn't that good. mates Saltist did the same thing. Other than that they are a great reel and i can't wait to have it loaded up with a GT on the end. Takes about 300m of 80lb braid no worries.
Got it teamed up with a Monstermesh rod also, heaps of grunt with that bad girl. there are plenty of good reviews on the net.
