The species Polymixia japonica was amongst a deep-water fish ID guide I have for the western Pacific. Many of the species in this guide are found in WA including ruby snapper, flame snapper, eight bar cod, comet grouper, radiant cod and many others. I have since however referred to the Atlas of Living Australia https://www.ala.org.au/
There appear to be four species of Polymixia known to be in WA waters. These include:
To throw the cat amongst the pigeons I am no longer convinced the fish in pics 1 and 3 are in fact Southern Ray's Bream. The tail shape doesn't look right nor does the waist size of the tail. My guess is that the fish is a Brilliant Pomfret. The pic within the Atlas of Living Australia is not a good pic but this is better.

It is likely the fish you caught was one of the above.

Im going Busakhin's, as it has the same triangular point shape at the front of the pupil, as the one caught off Rottnest in 2020.
Longispina doesn't have the barbells.
