We got a couple last summer

We got a couple last summer behind Staggies. Used a balloon well out the back of the boat with a small live skippy.

Over east I see that they use a live squid to get the YTK

Number one bait is - Live

Number one bait is - Live Garfish, send them out under a balloon or just drop them in if the fish are already there.

Basically any livebait is your best option... squid are great too, or salmon.. If livebaits arnt possible - then a fast retrieved skipping bait usually gets them going ( best being garfish) or poppers/rapalas/softbaits.

Hi Kurt Never caught a King

Tue, 2008-12-23 07:27

Hi Kurt

Never caught a King before but always a first time.. what I have read and heard using live Herring, it's like giving candy to kids.. so I agree with everyone on using live baits. Kurt, you said you were using burley? what was your special mix Smile

Cheers Johno
