Casting rod

 Hi guys.
I was hoping to get some recommendations on a new casting rod. Looking to replace a demon blood s8'3 2-4. Loved this rod, but managed to snap the top 3rd ( don't ask!), and they don't make this model any more. Will be paired with a Seragosa 5000, or Stradic 5000 with 30-40lb braid, mainly to cast for dolly's and also tailor etc. will also be using in the boat, so not too long.

if anyone has any recommendations I would love to hear them! Ideally not wanting to spend more than $300.

thanks heaps!

How did you snap the rod?

oh dear, feel your pain, my youngest decided to load up a little OL Cloud 9 PE1 i used for snapper fishing just before its first outing ....it swiflty became a PE2 6" shorter rod.

to the OP, My FADS rods are ASWB Indian Pacific PE3, Yamaga 70/2 and zenaq snipe 78. ASWB is stiffest and perhaps similar to what you had, you can sometimes find them quite cheap these days. The Yamaga is super supple and best allrounder and short enough to troll jellybabes and similar too, but might be short compared to what you were using through there is a 8' PE2 and mid 7' PE3 version - there might even be one on Marketplace i recall. Either of these you can cast stickbaits as well as a chunky little livie too. the Zenaq is a fast taper little stick bait rod, dont mind floating off a mulie but not sure I'd want to cast a herring with it.
