Carp Baits

hey everyone just been down to the preston river the other day and seen about 5 fairly small carp. They were coming out and looking at the worms which i had on. I was fishing for reddies so thats why i had worms on but i think i might go down one day and have a " river cleansing " session.

what baits are best for them????????

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Sun, 2009-11-15 22:05

in some places i fished for them in Vic they can be very fussy, other places they will eat anything, some big ones around over east, think the biggest i got was around 13 or 14kg in a lake

where I fished

they usually came in at a stock standard 5kg - 6kg. Good fun on a 6wt and a good way to get into fly fishing.

Whereabouts on Preston River

Mon, 2009-11-16 10:38

Whereabouts on Preston River did you go? Looking for some carp location around Perth for a while. Not much around as far as I know. Somebody was talking about the artificial lake near to Midland Brick plant but it all seems to be fenced off. Don’t know if I can sneak in there…

CORN MATE IS REALLY GOOD, ANY BREAD PASTE FLAVOURED WITH VANILLA OR COLURED WITH A DYE.  DOG BISCUITS ARE GOOD, SO IS SPAM OR SALAMI.
