Blue bone crabs, the best and what about palstics

Dear Pilbarra and other experts. What is the best crabs for these tasty critters. Havent had much luck with Gulp crabs. Should you just forage for rick crabs at low tide, or visit a beach at night and land yourself some ghosties. Also it it worth a cray leg or piece of blue manna. I think the value of the fish would probably cover the outlay for the more expensive options. Just interested in an opinion because we see heaps but squid, prawn and mulies just dont seem to fuss them to much.

i haven't had much luck with

i haven't had much luck with crabs but i have tried with manna's before a 1/4 at a time but no luck with them staying on the hook. I have heard that big banana prawns work well (from coles or woolies) if you can bring yourself to spend the cash on a kilo or so of them without cooking them, i can't.

The last two i cuaght was on fresh local squid, a big bait always helps too i'd chuck the whole mob of tenticles on and at worst get a snapper for my trouble. once you break the drought HANG ON, man they pull hard!!!

blue mannas

Hit the Swan or your local Woollies and stock up on some blue manna crabs, rip the legs off and take them up with you next time mate.

Put a fewon a 4/0 or 5/0, drop them down, tighten your drag and hang on.

It's the #1 baldie bait for us at Denham, I assume it would work the same for further north?
