Augusta - Chasing Tailor

Howdy peeps,

Heading down to Augusta this weekend, hoping the weather holds... and was wanting to chase some tailor down there. Anyone have any advice on where to go and whether salmon might be in town by then.

Thanks and cheers

Hi, we were in August in early January and got quite a few tailor trolling upriver from The Sticks area. These werent huge fish with an average size of 30-33cm. We had a go closer to the mouth without any luck

Hey Unclestu,

Loved my last trip, caught some skippy, whiting and herring off the colourpatch jetty good size too.

Unsuccessful in chasing the bream although I think I might need a little more time picking the spots from the river bank.

Hopefully this time. Thanks for your posts people!

Take the drive over to Hamelin Bay. The gutters up the Boranup end[north] of the beach usually produce good tailor and salmon at this time of the year.Should also be some skippy closer to the reef and a chance of a mulloway and smal sharks after dark
