Big John - I plan to stay north on this trip, thanks. You on VHF? I will be on 74.

Sam PM sent

Dean - Yup checking the weather tonight as well. Would be good to have company. Will likely skip the Derwent this time, but will fish the deep water pots.

Ok alfred looks like it will be likely that we will come, Weather doesn't look flash hot in the morning but great for the arvo so hopefully it will be a good day.

Fishing wise we were thinking of getting a few dollies early on (hopefully) then hitting containers and then we could try some pots if you want?

I will phone or Pm you tonight when my dad gets home to confirm,

Talk about the best laid plans. My deckie can't make it so if anyones interested in sportfishing for salmon at the West End tomorrow then send me a PM and we'll try and arrange something (split fuel cost etc).

Got snookered today! Went

Thu, 2007-04-12 18:50

Got snookered today! Went out to out to the Hillary and Furuno FADs but not a dollie in sight. Dean said they saw one, but it must have been a loner which is unusual. There were some fish on the sounder at the bottom at Furuno, but nothing would take bait or jigs.

Had time for a couple of drops at the cray pots and by that time there was no surface drift or current. Lines went straight down, well almost. Barely a nibble!

Did manage 32 knots all the way in though!

Looking at the reports on the Wangler forum Kasey, I don't think we'll be able to successfully spin that yarn.:)
