Last night i caught up with a few well known fishing identities(some are famous around perth if you ask them lol)Over a few drinks it was bought up that they may be starting an Ansa club and firing back up tagging programs and records ect. Many years ago i was a member and then the president of the now gone Northern Suburbs Sport Fishing Club.It was a great place to catch up and meet new people. We had all kinds of anglers from landbased to bluewater marlin and fad fishing.I was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining a club if it gets up and running.

ANSA
Very interested, putting all these fish back with no evidence of what is happening to them seems logical to record data that can be used later for research and decision making.
Count me in.

i was thinking the same John
not sure if many on here would even know how to tie mono.
Neither lone know how to manage the drag off the spool through the fight or even work the angles to fight the fish.Classic example at the sales the other day a guy bought a 6000 size reel and put 50 lb on it to fish in 30 ish meters. They would role around laughing if you told them people have caught 100 plus kilo fish on 8 kg mono.

Plenty of clubs out there
Plenty of clubs out there already that would love an injection of fresh blood. Maybe its time for a whole new membership drive and try to get line class fishing fashionable again.

not sure how it will work yet
i think it will be in order to reignite the dhu tagging projects aswell as a few other things at this stage. I know there is still a few on here that fish line classes.I will prob do the mackies comp now.Gamex has become a bit soft.Bring back the old days and you will find out who the real anglers are.

if you fish the AIBT then back it up with gamex straight after that is what it was like in its hay day.You fished 7 days out of 8 with a lay day somewhere in the middle. You fished as long as you wanted none of this midnight to late afternoon before a nanny nap.
It was also held in a windier time of the year which i can say im glad they changed that. That was when you could say you really felt the strain even if you fished on the wank boats.

Its not all line class though.
our club introduced some competition with braid. we had a let em go club comp. list of fish could fish braid. fish had to be of legal size to count. we measured em and let em go. 1 bloke there ended up with 150mtrs of flatties for the year. i think he won!! but can use braid also for the t&r club comp. without trying to sound rude i think ansa has to get with the times to go foward. it really is a fun thing to be a part of
