Two Rocks Weekend

Decided to head up to two rocks for the long weekend . Set up camp at the capricorn caravan park  would i recomment it mmmmmmm better not say *lol*

Met up with Paul G and Jesse friday night once again Paul thanks for letting us pick your mind for an hour and for pointing us into the right direction all weekend plus when you say it breaks at two odd mrts on the 3mile you were not joking *lol* coming in Sunday had one breaking in front and two behind us nothing like surfing in a 23 footer *LOL* . You are the tops mate thanks.

Well there were two boats my Sister inlaws 20 foot Ali and our 23 foot fibro (gear box all fixed $6400.00 odd dollars later lucky the Insurance paid just over half*S*) off we went to the west in about 40 mtrs of water , Saturday was slow and sloppy but fishable to us but unfortunitly the fish had different ideas.

Brenden got  this Queen snapper and Sean on the above boat got a small one but his PB

Got a few Black Asse and Nathan got this Dhufish

Sandy caught the bait SBers and a very large Cuttle fish Nothing else caught but a good feed and day on the water

Sunday Started early at the boat ramp by 5.15am and Paul was already in the water with Colin and Jesse .Matt got there a bit latter and i was stunded by the line up for the ramp at that hour.

well off we went the wind was up a bit and there was rain all around us

Some were getting wet

But one one side of the boat great and the other side was white caps etc weird suff never got wet either

but it soon fined  up to a great day had to do a bit of hunting for the fish but we ended up with

Two nice size Boldies, a few nice size snappers ,Small Dhu fish and a nice size black asse unfortunitly my Sister in law only got a giant flathead and australianas reefatartis *lol* a new breed of rock fish NOT.

All in all a really good couple of day away not many Dhu fish but what a great place to get away and fish or should i say get out fished by your 15 year old ha ha ha

Looking forward to getting back up there in January

You all caught some pretty nice fish there. The two pinky's you and Sandy pulled up are very nice indeed. Sunday was a funny day weather wise, I am glad you guys also missed the rain. Did you see many whales. We had a number of sightings, particularly early in the morning.

How close did they get Russ?

Tue, 2008-09-30 21:08

The closest we saw was probably about 100 m. But they seemed to be all over the place. I did have a vision of going over the top of one of those swells and having one right in front of us - especially after Paul told us the story of the bloke who had some of his front teeth knocked out.
