KG Recipe

Always gave my mum my KG's, as I prefer a nice sized Pinky or Dhuey fillet and am generally lucky enough to get one... but yesterday was a different story... only able to take a decent sized KG home... so Mum's going hungry...

... but what do I do? Fillet it? Bake it whole? Crumb it?

There's no recipe on here either... and I know many of you guys are KG crazy, so there must be some cracker recipes out there....

cheers,
damo

Gave KG's away? - quite seriously, the last time i went fishing with a mate in the sound, i caught a pink and he caught a KG. Unfortunately for me he would not swap- love KG's.

I would swap KG's for Pinky's or Dhu's everyday of the week.

Yummo !!

Luke cooking method sounds about right.

Have a great day.

Leave the skin on, just scale and cook in a little butter.
You can also dust with flour.

Try using Rice Flour instead

Try using Rice Flour instead of the normal stuff. It give a nice light crisp coating without going gluggy or burning in the pan.

Results....

Well I took your advice and filleted it as I would most of my other fish... dusted it in Flour (with some Lemon & Pepper seasoning mixed through), whacked that straight in the pan and cooked on medium heat both sides for a few of minutes....

Seasoned with a crack or two of Pepper and Salt and some Lemon Juice...

Washed down with a cold Corona....

Verdict: D.E.L.U.X. !!

Beautiful white firm flesh... has to be up there with the best I've tasted - just a little lighter than Dhuey fillets

What am I going to tell my Mum?
