Three Drifts then Home

Three Drifts then Home

fantastic day on the water. Nothing better than taking somebody out who has not caught fish before and be successful.

Headed out at 9.30am, 15mins to the spot, First drop I hook up on somthing large, Andrew begins to yet and run to my side of the boat, I thought he was just excited to see a fish being hooked but that wasnt the case. As I looked behind my second rod was bent over and Andrew was wrestling it from the holder. Still yelling he begins his fight as I continue to bring my fish up. Within 10 minutes I have landed a 94cm Cod and Andrew had his first Dhie on the deck, 6kg.

We went over the same ground again and three of the four rods bent, by this time Andrew was about to grow another arm and take two rods on at once. I got one fish of the bottom, and then set about getting another into the boat. After a sort time three Dhuies were flapping on the deck, after a quick measure all three were release in good heath I hope.

Third drift again over the same 300m stretch and yes two rods bend again, I boat a Baldie and Andrew lands another Dhie. 11 am we take the 15minute run back to the ramp.

Andrew has already booked his next trip, think if I look out the back he might be in the deckies seat as I write.

Fish are great but a smile is even better.
