Nice capture mate, was that taken on a live mullet or strip baits? And yes its very suprising that you caught it during the day!! I only heard that most of them are resulted hook ups after dark...

Cause I never been up that way but hopefully after schools finish might head up that way instead of going to leavers and do abit of fishing so hopefully I can land one of these suckers! What do they usually take as their diet Jay? Are they oppertunistic feeders?
They congregate in deepwater areas of our local creeks and inshore waters. Good baits include live mullet, bonies, whiting is OK but I've never found it to be as good as the former.

Yeah Jangles Black Jewfish... actually they're often caught during the day but night is generally better.
