took a whole scalie that was buterflied....pretty sure there vegetairians so maybe the butterflied fish looked like weed haha...mate also got a huge coral trout on this trip
I have a 10 meter 5 piece gaff cos line gaffs are a pain in the ass....the spot I fish is roughly 15 meters above the water and the gafing platforn is about 8
that spot is called layer cake. well our name for it! most of those spots produce pinkies. they are dotted all down the cliffs. the best ones are the ones that require you to act like a mountain goat!
i caught one just off sand patch in kal. i thought i had seen them before in a fishing book and it said they were great eating. the bloke i was fishing with made me feel likle a dick when i said that saying it was just a wrasse. so.......back it went with no photo, only to find out for sure later on they are as good as bluebone on the chew. i always seem to learn the hard way. next time i will trust what i have read

I caught one at Shark bay a few years ago and was taken aback by it's beauty. Hence I returned it to the ocean.
