Last nights Mulloway!

Went out last night on the swan...had a run just before the high and landed another bad boy...released really well! 14kg

just a question...is the
just a question...is the attraction about fishing for mulloway because they're apparently so rare to catch? Or do they give an absolutely awesome fight? Or a mix of both? I haven't really heard of people keeping them so i guess they're not the best table fish? What are the reasons for going after this species?

These fish are just awesome. Their feeding habbits make it a very "technical" process to catch them. I love live baiting for them and I am sure some of the younger "stayout" members here will concur. In the surf they are great because they feed right in the gutters and trenches close to the beach. The initial run after a hookup is awesome.
So far as eating is concerned, I love them as long as they are not too big (or small). I generally make cutletts and fry them in butter. Hmmmmm Yummmmmm
