Jay, I have heard a lot about thre reels but not much about the rods.

colin on the $$$ side of things, and IMO you can pick up rods with very similar action/and quality components for quite a bit cheaper.

they're good, one thing I noticed with glenns is it has an extremely slow action... which you can't see in this pic as it's not fully loaded. Would probably take a bit to get used to I think.

Glenn had a problem with his other one but the dealer replaced it no questions asked.

acouple of mates use them bottom bashing and they rate them highly, as jay said there slow or very parabolic for a better word,so if ya like a stiff rod dont get one.
l should of really payed abit extra and got one but lm a tight ass.

I wouldn't say that any of those rods you mentioned dean really compare to the van staal... except for perhaps the saltiga rods..

$425.00 is a fair price for a rod.....

All i'm talking about is the action of the rod, parabolic action (slow taper) , thats what I'm talking about.

and yes the rods I mentioned have that slow taper.

Plus the van staal's retail at around $500 so the saltiga is cheaper.
