Hey guys, got these on a double header today in 300m. Any ideas what they are? Got me stumped and yeah the barotrauma doesnt help.

i have seen them somewhere before, i think they were refered to as some kind of perch . cant be posotive tho

Well after a bit of hunting I've discovered they are Tangs Snapper. Apparently top grade eating.

Were these caught in metro waters or further north? If metro they are a bit further south than usual. They have been on here before but caught around Exmouth.

Yep Tang snapper. We usually get a few in coral bay.
They are sensational eating.
