How do you stop the oil from getting sucked up into the vac packer? Sounds like a good idea to let them infuse with the squid, as well as vac packing bait :p
And leemo who asked you? Catching rays then gaffing and releasing them is gay.
Squidding is what i like doing i'm not asking anyone's premision if i can or cant like something. It's just what i like, same with you and catching rays or any other species for that matter it's about you going fishing for enjoyment. Why shouldn't i go squidding because you don't see the need/fun?
i dont really understand all the "excitement" about squidding myself, i like to eat them but they certainly dont give mre any thrills catching them and there messy bastards in the bait tank and in the boat, but each to there own i suppose!. cheers
i guess that puts me in that 5% then ,always good 2 target squid and get your share, nothing wrong with bit o squid in the frypan or as a good bait! i personaly got bored of hooking rays and having my arms stretched always good 2 have some line peel off the reel but would much rather see a nice mulloway or dhuie come in than some ray or are u getting the cookie cutter out leemo for some poor mans scallops ?? next ray you catch and release would you mind telling it 2 stay away from my baits cheers ! go get them squid danno good work !!

i didnt see anywhere in this post were it indicated that critisizm was at all neccesary..... from what i see your not in any position to critisize anyones angling skills anyway!
I'll put my hand up and say that i love catching ray's the bigger the better,i'l much rather catch and release a 100kg plus ray than keep a fish for the table. I eat fish dont get me wrong , but i treat ray's as sport fish rather than a "pain in the arse" and will specifically go out and target them. The longer and harder the fight the better 3/4/5hrs - man vs beast.
sorry for the hijack danno - keep on catching those squid mate,ill have to get out there some time and collect some for myself.
but i would rather catch a squid then a ray but catching a ray is way more fun then a squid but catching the gentle beasts on purpose i dont agree with but each to there own.But nice catch danno

Squid are tasty, heads are good bait and its good fun.
The only think I really like about people catching rays is that its fewer people targetting decent fish.
