I'm going to guess 23 foot going by the 2300 decal on the side. Trihull center console setup, heaps of space, and even when we had 4 people on one side the boat didnt tilt at all. I can check with the skipper if you wanted to know the exact model as i've forgotten the name.
if so i was the 7 meter hard top with the 225 honda that you came up to in the 38 meter ground i think the motor is a late model johnson 200ish size i came back past on the way back to mindarie. How did you go?
Could have been a johnson. We headed straight out from mindarie, somewhere around 10-15 miles or so out. Didnt pay too much attention to the other boats, but I do remember we set course to the gps mark once past the passage, headed straight there and saw a boat that might of been at the spot, but ended up being a few hundred m up ahead. We woulda gone elsewhere if the boat was on the spot, but figured it was far enough away to be a different spot (so hope you didnt think we were pinging, lol). Would have been around 2pm sunday arvo or so?
Caught a few fish, but mostly small. Better than getting no bites all day. I got one or two undersized dhuies and pinkies, as well as several sargeant bakers, a wrasse i forget the name of and the scorpion cod. Skipper was pretty similar.
The other two guys on the boat were a father/son team. The son got lots of bites but not really many hookups. His dad caught a fish and decided to pass the rod onto his son to fight the fish. As they were swapping the other rod over and switching positions, the dad wound up to realise he was on as well. They ended up pulling up a legal pinkie each.
I was jigging a lumo jig just after dark and had something hit it, take one or two turns of the spool, then snap. Woulda been a gooood sized fish, and it took my fishaman jig (which isnt easy to replace). Realised then that I had left nylon leader on my leader for fishing up north instead of the flurocarbon I had switched to to prevent those kind of snapoffs. (i use the nylon as a deliberate weaker link unlike when jigging where i use a slightly heavier fluoro)
Hopefully you had a little more luck allrounder. :p
everyone that fishes out of mindarie north or two rocks has that ground so no need to ping me thereI only made a fast exit because the father in law already had a feed and that is all we need. The boat did look stable in the water with you all on the one side. When you came up at first we where throwing twisties at bait schools.
