Another Barra cod caught in close Dampier, again released

I have been fishing for years and never caught one. What a beautiful fish. Bait, jig, lure, plaky? Looks like a plaky hook but cant tell for sure!

No diehard they are not , but most people release them.

If they are so good on the tooth why does most people release them?
The tail set up is almost like the legenday triple tail! So I would expect them to go hard.

Because you dont see them too often , I have see 3 diving and these 2 in the last 8 years in Dampier.
