 Surfy, there was a budget

Tue, 2021-02-09 19:37

Surfy, there was a budget last time, has the situation changed ?
I have seen you post a few times on here and that's all ok but it would help your case and others understand some of the specifics you are looking for.

dealer

I think you should be upfront and let it be known you are a dealer looking to sell on consignment so as to not wast peoples time.

hey mate

hey mate i actually buy boats personally and sometimes sell later down the track.

My friend also owns a boat yard so i sometimes bring him boats to put on consignment as well if i meet people who want to sell and dont want the hassle of dealing with tyre kickers.

Where you upset about something?

 Surfy if it's a commercial

Thu, 2021-02-11 05:38

Surfy if it's a commercial enterprise it's worth decorating that to the forum owner. Usually they ask businesses that advertise on their site for sponsorship.

best of luck with your trading.

He’s a time wasting tyre kicker for sure.

About 18 months ago he contacted me regarding a boat I had for sale in Carnarvon. Asked for photos, gave them to him and he made me an offer for a boat sight unseen which I accepted. Next day he pulls the plug saying he's found another boat. A few weeks later he's at it again looking for more boats. Like I said before a time waster people.

Interesting comment mate

Perhaps you should get your facts checked first.

we agreed on a price as you told me your boat was a "penguin phantom" which was the boat I was looking for at t time

after doing some research with my friends it 100% was not a penguin phantom which I then passed onto you.
I ended up buying a penguin phantom a few weeks later.
not sure why your sour on our conversation as you mislead me about the make of your hull

but righto champ.

yard

Thu, 2021-02-11 11:55

when he wanted my boat for consignment after I fell for his same forum trick he informed me he was setting up a yard at Woodmans Point where the boat storage was /is.

No issue with that just be up front. If people want to sell on consignment there are plenty of others with far better infastructure. Border line trolling as far as i'm concerned.

Hey mate

Thu, 2021-02-11 14:17

I was upfront with you in my first phone call?

and TBH I was looking at a boat for myself as well but $50k was out of my budget for your boat.

sorry if I confused you. Iv only just started working in a yard about 2 months ago as well so there's always an option of consigning but I do look for a lot of boats myself to buy with cash.

cheers

WTF

Thu, 2021-02-11 15:36

We both know thats not true. It wasnt until you got to my place and looked at the boat for half an hour did you reveal you wanted to sell it for me in the yard you were setting up but went quite ready yet.

Just be honest with people so they can make an informed decision.

 For someone just starting

For someone just starting out you already have a lot of unhappy customers, if I was looking to buy or sell you seem like a good company to stay well away from.

I sold a couple of boats now

Thu, 2021-02-11 18:12

I sold a couple of boats now to surfymuzz, he kept one for himself for awhile and he on sold my other, I got a price I was more than happy with and the service was quick and easy.

theres always good and bad dealings with any business but I thought I had to post to balance out the negativity as I've had nothing but good dealings.

also helped source me a furuno 587 and 1kw for my new boat and that was well priced too.

good on the bloke for getting out there and having a crack, you got to start somewhere.

 Good on you for balancing

Good on you for balancing this up Vic. I've had no dealings with the guy but it sounds like communication is the only issue here. Get that cleared up and everyone's fully informed.

another good experience

Fri, 2021-02-12 14:15

Surfymuzz sold my boat on consignment late last year also.  Got me what I wanted, sold it inside a week.  I was pretty happy with that.

Its good that we got to the

Sat, 2021-02-13 17:01

Its good that we got to the bottom of all that.

  • you "buy alot of boats that you later sell"
  • Your "setting up a yard and are looking for stock"
  • You buy a few boats and you "have a mate who takes them off you and sells in his yard"

You said you buy boats and "sometimes sell them down the track", how many boats do you own? If you only sometimes sell them you must have a few now

But at the end of it all you are advertising for boats but don't mention why in the ad.

You being a possible small business owner, would appreciate that it'd be a good idea to declare to Adam what you're doing so that it doesn't appear shady.

Then you wouldn't have to deal with all this shit!
