Wrasse?

Hi everyone just wanted to confirm these fish are wrasse ?

Caught them near garden island not to far from the herring bay entrance markers... Released them back as I hear they are just average/poor eating. and wasn't 100% sure they were wrasse. I can't seem to catch anything in the sound apart from butterfish , trumpeter, wrasse. And undersized pink snapper that have to be released. I'm just using occy for bait sometimes Mullies but they just normally get picked of the hook! Maybe I'm fishing to shallow ? When I pick a spot deeper I don't get any bites. Hopefully my day will come when I can have a display picture as a big catch instead of a nice sunset. Oh and the smaller fish in the picture. It looks like a butterfish or trumpeter but it's more like a spotted pattern instead of straight lines down its hole body hmmm

Wrasse / rock cod for the first pic....not sure about second, some sort of trumpeter.

Try heading North of the sound around the corner out from the cement barge terminal for whiting etc...between the islands closer to carnac for skippy.

First one is a wrasse and second one is a sea trumpeter, better known as stormy perch or turd eye

Ok thanks for clearing that up guys. Some skippy would be great but no matter which spot I pick I manage to pull up butterfish it's like they follow my boat haha
