Who needs to pay a squillion to watch whales...look how close to shore these ones are.

A bit of metro glass for all you Northerners that keep rubbing our noses in it.

Whale watching
They have a couple of whale watching boats working out of Quindalup/Dunsborough down south. They charge something like $50+ to go for a trip out when all yo need to do is sit on the rocks at Point Piquet and watch them swim passed about 30 metres off the shore.
Hopefully the bulk of their run has passed us up here, last trip out they were everywhere, was like driving a dodgem car zig zagging around them

Bremer Bay Whale
Bit further to travel to, but you dont even need a boat or a set of binoculars down at Bremer Bay. No wonder early whalers had it easy down there.

Nice shots Andy...and Buzz.
The annual controlled burn off Fisherman - so we don't have wild fires like black friday, ash wednesday or the Victorian fires of Feb 2009; so a necessary evil.
