havent u already asked
havent u already asked this??? maybe some one else.
ive only used 2 types of braid. fireline which is good for the money i think it lik 20 bucks for 114m so get two spools and ur reels pretty much filled.
or the other one, which james (flangies) got me onto was sunline super PE. it come in 150m spools and 300m spools and its 40 odd for the 150m and 80 od for 300m from tackle shack. personal i think 150m is more then enough for stopping most fish, even the 114m of fire line will do.JMO

Daiwa Accudepth, Jigman
Daiwa Accudepth, Jigman Ultra or Big One, bit of Frog here too. Also picked up some Daiwa boat braid in a bulk spool and it seems ok.

Couple
Been using two recently:
The Daiwa Tournament Accu-Depth braid and that's quite good... the only thing is that I've got it on a Saltist 40H and I've found that as I wind in the red dye often starts flicking out over my tshirt.
Used this through the jigging season and was pretty impressed with it too.

tuffline
I think tuffline is great, it has no memory and is nice and supple if that makes any sense.

knots in ur braid that are
knots in ur braid that are caused buy the wind cost the line is so light and has something to grip so it tangles, wheres mono is smooth and pulls straight again.

Next time I'll just use TD
Next time I'll just use TD Sensor or something, its cheaper and knots fine and has a reasonable # for the diameter.
PE8? The Daiwa Saltiga Boat Braid is nice 8-ply colour metered, and a better price than the YGK offerings.

best ive owned was TD
best ive owned was TD Sensor, but saying that ive only tried a small handful of braids. sunline and varivas are top quality, but keep in mind your paying for it. wind knots are common occurence when using TD sensor, moreso than other braids ive used. anyone agree?

what lb td sensor are you
what lb td sensor are you using? the smaller stuff (0.4 + 0.6) is supposed to be pretty bad with wind knots, but the others are supposed to be pretty good (only used 0.8 myself wasn't bad).
personally i quite like sunline, linesystems and unitika. sunline castaway is nice line to use and very thin, (PE0.6 10lb) but it gets loads of wind knots and wears out quite quickly. the cheaper super PE on the other hand I haven't had any problems with yet. linesystems basshard is also pretty good and the orange colour is great to see.
I haven't tried any of the the heavy varvias braids, but i've got a couple of spools of the avani eging and i've found that it tends to loose it's colour a bit quicker then other braids, and also the knot strength on it is not very good.

well just my opinion the
well just my opinion the first time you use it pink fireline this is all the dye comes of it onto your grips and your shirt :/
second of all it starts to 'fray' it becomes unfused and that just decreases strength
Thirdly it becomes a flat line not round so it is a braid you wont be able to cast far unlike other braid.
fourthly it is pretty stiffy.
fifthly i hate it :D

don't get pink then. crystal
don't get pink then. crystal won't come off at all really, but green is the best imo. even expensive braids like daiwa, linesystems, varvias etc some of the colour comes off the first time you use them.
have you tested the strength of 'frayed' fireline? how long have you actually used it for? i think that you'll find that even if it begins to 'fray' it actually hasn't lost much strength due to the vast amount of fibers that are there. i've got some old fireline (14lb) on an old reel that's over 6 or 7 years old and even though it's faded and frayed it's still very usable. with the light stuff (<6lb or so) it does loose it's strength quicker then the heavier strains, but thats just like any light line.
no idea what you mean by your third point.
as for it being stiff, yes it is for the first few times you use it and then after that it softens in. alternatively, some people soften it in water before they put it on their spools.
i'm not saying firelines the best, and i hardly use it at all these days due to there being better lines out there, but value for money it is pretty good in my opinion. especially for beginners who just want something cheap to try 'braided lines'.
i also get sick of people with little or no experience saying how crap it is, just because others are saying it. sure, you can get good lines for $70 or $80 for 150m, but does the avg person who's starting out, or on a budget need or want to spend $80 to spool up their $100 reel? No.

hey mate third pointed
hey mate
third pointed stated that the 'Fused' braid becomes flat and not round there for effecting casting.
i have not yet bought a spool of braid worth $70+ .
my opinion (MY opinon) says that i do not like it one bit its rip for money. i have used a couple of spool of fireline 10lb and 20lb the higher the line class the worse it gets.
So now i am using matrix pro and it seem just fine! better then Fire Line and i got 135m for $15!

I use 20lb fireline (yellow)
I use 20lb fireline (yellow) on one of my threadlines and recon it is good stuff. Have given it a caning on trevs, chinaman, rankins, longtail etc and it loves it. Breaks way higher than its line rating as well. That said its not my favorite.
I do like the Daiwa braid and for a good all purpose braid I also like the Fins prt. Have varivas on one of my reels and it is sweeeeet.
Cheers

I use Fireline 100lb on a Penn Gls 40 and a brromstick rod. Its my wreck fishing or comp esky filler rig. Lever to sunset and skull drag them out of the caves. Im 120kg and 6'4 and been dragged to my knees a couple of times. I have the black, picked it up from Cabelas for $50aus for 1000m. All the die came off in firsrt few uses but jeez its got some balls.
Doubles as a back up anchor rope too.

nothing wrong with fireline
nothing wrong with fireline at all (upt to 20 lb) i will only use fireline when fishing bream in heavy snags as i can lock up and drag em out and feel confident it will stay connected. above i read that bass hard is no good in lighter lines? i have had a reel loaded with 6lb bass hard for over a year now and never had one problem with it wind notting at all. have had several bad experiences with tuff line now and dont rate it at all. varivas avani is sensational but if you want a bang for ya buck braid the sunline range is the go
