How meny snell hooks with treble can you run on a ballooning rig, Without getting in trouble by the fisheries people

That's my laymans understanding anyway. A maximum of 3 hooks or 3 sets of gangs per fishing line. So if you have a snelled hook with a treble attached - my interpretation is that is a single gang. Can always give them a ring to confirm.

I used to use 3 x 8/0 7766
I used to use 3 x 8/0 7766 Mustad tarpons ganged with a 5/0 ST66 Owner treble hanging off the last.....but if we had big ass gardies we'd sneak a gang of 4.
Snelling would be better I reckon, better hook up with less hooks needed. And legal
