trailer brake lines
Went out to have a look over the boat, and noticed a brake pad lying on the floor. So , jack the trailer up and off with the wheel.
The pad had indeed come out , but before the previous fishing trip , so the piston was all smashed to pieces.
bugger as I'd done bearings and brakes last easter.
I knew I'd be opening a can of worms but off came all the wheels. The other pads were good if a couple of heat cracks , but I didn't think it was a good idea to replace just the one set, so all calipers had to come off.
1 ended up being siezed again , so good thing really.
the brake lines didn't look the best last year , and this time they snapped when undoing the fitting on two.
So , my question is
Anyone using the flexible brake lines like maybe the transtyle kit ones, or can you recommend another type, as I'm gonna replace the lot??
cheers
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

I’ve designed an industrial
I’ve designed an industrial trolley for a kind of special application about a year ago using flexible brake lines (different brand than Transtyle) and it has been working fine since then every day. I can’t find anything wrong with that type of lines. Perth brake parts in Welshpool can probably supply you with all the parts and make the lines to fit your trailer, but sometimes they are bit pricey on a customized stuff. The kit might be the go if you can find one to suit.

i used these one on my trailer, might need the adaptor they suggest but they are pretty easy to come by, fitted them up in a few hours and they have them at your door in 2-3 days too.

Stainless
Any of the hydraulic hose replacement companies can make new ones in stainless tubing, same goes for Mercruiser ram hoses at about 1/3 of genuine part prices. Just take originals in and they will make them to suit.

actually they can't or so
actually they can't or so they told me, i was going to go local and get one of the hydralic companies to make them but they said they legally couldn't, best they could do was supply me with the parts and i DIY at my own risk, i asked for a quote and never got it, they may have never wanted to help me but they seemed adament they couldn't do brake lines.
The hydrastar kits but the look of it was a bloody good price for what i was going to pay for the parts alone especially the swaging tool.

Ozzy park
When I had a mercruiser I had hoses made up by a hydraulic mob in Osborne park, cost about $40 for the pair compaired with $120 each for genuine.
