Many people use south passage in bigger boats?
Been that way a cpl of times in little runnabouts, but a bit iffy in a bigger boat.
Anyone got any tips or a safe gps trail to the channel?

me!
I've gone through there in my 6.5m and no probs. When the swells up thats when it can be dicey but i generally "see" my preferred passage through the enterance!

the passage is the easy bit
its all the bombies on the way down you need to be aware of..if you have done it in a tinny you will be sweet. We have taken a few big boats through on the right days. What boat are you fishing in?
So tell me have you got your info from years on the water or hours on the internet?

a mates 8m ali, I reckon if we can save a good trail into the plotter we could shave about 20 minutes off our trip

my tac!
Staying in close to the back of the reef "sand edge" all the way along and then come east into the ramp near the end is quicker imo than the bommy trail especially with low tide & low vis!
