Swan sesh

Took the yak out saturday arvo, not to catch but mainly to get away from the kids and sink a couple of beers on the water. Was a slow start but as the trees started to cast shadows over the banks it turned on. They were big and angry and preferred hardbodies. I was looking like a fool with all the big ones hooked dropped at the net, one solid fish hooked in the deeper snags didn't let me get an inch on him as i could feel him rubbing his face on a log till the hardbody was dislodged. Dropped a big dark very high 30s fish at the net and a few other mid 30s. There was lots of angry rats (<30cm) this was the bigger of the landed fish. Decent arvo great weather. Hopefully the stars align and i can get offshore with the yak again soon.

This comment is the one for me "Took the yak out saturday arvo, not to catch but mainly to get away from the kids and sink a couple of beers on the water."

I think this is too often forgotten that it's not just about catching, its about getting out there and having a good time ! Love it

That's awesome man Nothing like a good bream session,  dirty fighters , still a few monsters... I think that fish kill  years ago wiped  a few out ..it's slowly coming back to what it used to be though.

And majority  catch and release these days
