i lived in an aussie swag for 4 months
never had a problem mate good strong canvas and zips - i found the best system to sleeping in a swag in comfort is to carry a small tent with a mossie net - one that takes five min to setup - makes it easy to get up for a whizz in the middle of the night if its rainin - and it keeps ya drier than just a swag - and this is comin from someone who sleeps in a swag regularly and for long periods of time

dont forget about the mossies as well
doesnt matter which way you go north or south you will be attacked by mossies ay...there bloody terrible - u gotta drench your self in reppelent and have a good net - a mate of mine reckons dettol mixed with baby oil is the best reppellent and doesnt stink so bad

Hey Blake have you seen the
Hey Blake have you seen the 5 sec tents? Shimano bought one out a few years back. Sort of like a beach shelter type of thing. Just pull it out of its cover and throw it on the ground ,and hey presto, one tent. Big enough for a double swag inside and 2 people or me and my 2 kids ( 7&5) at a squeeze. Nice and airy, very waterproof ( coped an Exxie drenching in February ) and packs up flat. They can be a little entertaining to pack up but once you get used to it, its not too bad. Worth looking into though.
Cheers Mick

Mallee swags
Agree with adam...get one with a mossie net...
I have had to buy a few swags over the last 12 months for my boys...
ended up with 4 differnt ones (all singles)
Moondyne....light quality but fine for kids 5/10
AOS are generally well made 6/10
Jollyswags have heavier canvas than aos 7/10
Mallee swags (northam) are heavy duty (has a inbuilt flynet)...also comes with a waterproof base 8.5/10
spend the money and get a good one mate....they last a lifetime, so you will get a lot of use out of it....especially when you get hairs on your chest and find girls

when you say 'Mallee swags (northam)', do you mean, they are made in northam or is that a model or something? do you mind me asking what that one cost you?

true blue
I have a true blue . banjo which is a double swag 2 people is a tight fit. its a bit bulky but has been great with an inbuilt sandfly mesh so you can have a moon roof. it has like a dome an 1 end which is great cos you can zip yourself sealed shut so nothing can bite and you can air it out during the day without anything crawling in. got it from ranger about 4 years ago
