Stupid Local Law

Did anyone notice that the City of Busselton advertised the local laws on the Busselton jetty in the local paper. One of the local laws was a possession limit of two lines per fisher. Several local fishers went to the City of Busselton and thankfully the law has been changed to a in use limit the same as everywhere else of two lines and no possession limit.

Another Local Law

That was a local jetty law that has caused some concern for fishers for quite a while JettyRat and eventually common sense prevailed and was repealed but another local law that needs to be looked at is the banning of bikes on the Jetty. They allow trains and 4x4 motor bikes on the jetty but don't want people to take their bikes with them for safe keeping while they fish.

We did try

We did try to get this one changed as well because bikes were getting vandalized but the city would not listen. But we were able to confirm that any one can take there gear out on a pram, trolley, gopher, scooter or just about any other means of transport but not on your bikes. It seems funny when the jetty train has derailed three times since the jetty opened and the carts travel up to 30km/h.
