Storm damage by high wind

Just heard an almighty bang from out the side of my place, went outside to find the entire fence on the northern side of the house is now on the ground. Thanks a lot Mr storm 8 ft sheets of hardiflex ( I think that's what it is called replaced asbestos sheets)sheared of at ground level 6 ft high.
Boat on trailer with brakes on pushed 2 metres down the drive way, wind at falcon registered 92 kph time to batten down the hatches me thinks.

You won't get the hardieflex fence sheeting now, James Hardies have discontinued making it, your insurance will probably replace the entire fence with colorbond

That happened to us last
That happened to us last year, a section of fence was blown over and insurance paid for a complete new colorbond fence.

Yes Dale- and another stink boat broke its mooring this afternoon,and has drifted across Mangles Bay in the howling Southwester.
It's washed up onto Rocky Beach.

Calm all day, then it came up a bit tonight. Can't hear much outside at all ATM, maybe a bit of a sou'wester. This is early, I normally predict the first big blow for around the 20th of May each year.

Not good about the fence
Not good about the fence that it's down but good getting a better one. Got a call from Sandy it was blowing it's ads off down home. Just about to blow the gate inside out. If the boat moved with the brakes on , could only imagine where it would have ended up without them on.
Hope no one cope any major damage down there.

Blew like a freight train all night and still is windy as now down here. Had no power from 6pm to 4am. Local FB resident site reporting a lot of damage. Yep, hopefully we'll see some good shore based snapper reports?

Fence
Careful with the fence, im going through a similar insurance battle now from cyclone Damian. I had a palm fall on the fence and chip about a 1m section and some other small chips come out of it, insurer allowed for 10m of fence to be paid out at 50% (shared boundary) - even though there is 24m of fence that is asbestos and cant be replaced.
You may find yourself in a similar situation with the Hardy Flex given that it is not manufactured anymore and the whole fence requires replacing. The insurer may just claim to replace the broken section and give you 50% of the shared boundary cost. I'm obviously fighting it, but food for thought..

Wanted to give me $1500 cash to settle.
Got the quote back at $8943 to remove the 24m of asbestos and $11088 to replace the fence... (quoted at Ktown Damian prices that is)

Had a quote to get a tree pruned at my rental in Karratha pre Damien and it took a while to get up off the floor. Damien sorted it for free but can only imagine the cost now.Would have been cheaper for me to take 2 weeks off work, drive down and do it myself.

Our Super 6 had a few panels
Our Super 6 had a few panels break a few years back. RAC asked the contractor if they could jsut replace a few panels but was told no, the remainder was cracked. It took a few persistant phone calls but now i have a pretty colourbond back fence. Now i just need to remove a few of the plants holding up the side fences...
