STOLEN BOAT!!!!

Hey guys need help from all eyes on the sight. Had my boat stolen last night from the side of my house. It was taken from Hocking (near Wanneroo) betwwen 12am and 1am. It is a 6.1m Bermuda with an inboard turbo diesel with mercruiser leg. It is a one of a kind in WA! The boat rego is BR563. The police have told me there is slim chance of finding it so i need all the help i can get. There is a gps on board with 10 years of co-ordinates which is bringing me to tears. Any info that leads to the recovery will be offered a reward. My mobile number is 0407651444 or pm me. Cheers guys

IS there anyway the GPS can be tracked if it is turned on       Good Luck in getting it back      Search all advertising sites

Is it possible to notify major sites as in online boat sales about details   Not likely that it will be advertised soon but you never know

you can get Gps tracking

Mon, 2012-03-05 11:55

you can get Gps tracking devices to be able to locate vehicles and or stolen equipment I'm not sure if this could be done when the elecric's (Plotter) etc were switched on. Or if a exact signal is required

Mon, 2012-03-05 12:02

Yeah, but its a separate device, its not like a mode you can switch a regular plotter into. A regular plottter only listens to GPS, and doesn't transmit it's location. The trackers have a GPS, or accept GPS input, then they transmit a signal with the location encoded into it, either via radio or 3G or satphone even.

Mate that is a real bummer, hard to imagine why they would steal something so unique? Can i ask-bermuda, that boat looks EXACTLY like a Trailcraft in every detail, is/was there a connection?

That model was made by trailcraft for bermuda..

I could kind of understand stealing it, it is a nice boat and the extra weight of the diesel helps the boat ride well too. Like you say though, pretty unusual.

the council cameras that they have up that way (several near the Wanneroo shops/Wanneroo council streets) and maybe even the local service station cameras if you have the approximate time it was taken (Peak x3, Shell x2, BP x1).  Or even any neighbours with cameras facing the street.  You may get lucky with the car/truck rego or description.  Sad news.

gotta have big balls to do

Mon, 2012-03-05 18:18

gotta have big balls to do something like that, and a fucked up attitude to life in general.

Its a distinctive boat, a diesel stern drive Trailcraft lookalike will certainly catch my eye. I guess you can just hope when these dropkicks get it to the people who move them, they say sorry its too out of the ordinary, dump it somewhere. What would they do with it otherwise?

I cant imagine theres a big market for stripping something like that is there?

Joe get your rego papers out

Tue, 2012-03-06 09:35

Joe get your rego papers out and put up the HIN number, trailer rego number, every thing possible, even the motor number.

It will help if they try to pawn or even strip it for parts to sell.

Also put something into Gumtree, it often gets hits back for a reward.

Even an add on Boatsonline will help find it.

good luck mate, I feel for you.

Mon, 2012-03-05 22:35

Will keep a look out - one thing (for the future) I have my boat alarmed, I used to live in Ellenbrook and had the boat graffitied a couple of times and a couple of things stolen from it. Subsequently left nothing on it - and did actually catch someone having a look around in the boat, the alarm went off and boy did I have a good time (-:, scared the SX&% out of the little crim.

Police did not care either way

Sorry to hear mate... Always hard to see your hard earned disappear because of some knob jockeys out there! This just brought an incident I heard today to my attention. My missus was heading up to kalbarri this morning and drove past an overturned boat and 4wd on the side of the road. Big police presence on the scene apparently. She said it was a "big white" boat over the phone haha... Not much help :/ Not sure if its related at all tho.

Wed, 2012-03-07 10:28

I reckon its a pretty good and simple  idea, to get a texta, find a couple of spots out of the way on your boat such as right up under the gunnel, under seat box etc and write your name and phone number.

Or stamp your name into the trailer underneath somewhere.

Easy then if later you spot what might be your boat with a new HIN number etc to prove its yours.

No insurance thats a double whammy ..geez.. to catch a thief have to think like a thief ...they must've cased it out prior ...it wouldn't just be random suss the neighbours out and people along your street did they see / notice people , cars in the last few days check their body language out also...where , how far would they have went to hook it up properly ...put signs on local street corners requesting info  " Reward "etc  ...presumably be in a shed or backyard for the moment cooling off...these sort of hits are typically pre ordered ...do as your doing, I heard you on the radio thats the way ...I'll keep my eye out ....goodluck

Cheers guys. Had a call from a listener on the radio today with some good input. Was seen in wangara (only done the road from me) in the early hours parked on side of road near bunch of warehouses. The guy slowed down to have a better look at boat and got a very negative and worried stare from occupants in the car. he thought it was unusual that hour of morning considering there were no traces of the guys goin fishing. He is going to retrace his steps and get back to me.

So anyone in the wangara/landsdale area keep an eye out. I want these mother f&#$ers caught... then killed of course

Good point

Thu, 2012-03-08 20:24

That's a good point chookc, Last year i found my stolen trailer after a friend in the industrial area spotted it go past my own factory . Knowing the area well, i drove around and found it in the next suburb. I also posted it on FW and got a great response with lot's of members watching for the trailer.

Yes i was lucky , i thought it would have been miles away, but they have to store it someplace quick or get  it right out of there (interstate)

I'm in Bayswater and every one i know is looking for your boat mate.

So keep your eyes open guy's, It would be great to see a possitive outcome to this thread .

Update

Thu, 2012-03-08 21:19

Yeah all the details are in the hands of the right people. Not that easy guys to get a servo station to view footage... ive tried everyday so far. Found a couple houses in my area with cctv today so they are gonna have a look for me. The general area the boat was possibly spotted was the new area of wangara on the boarder of landsadale industrial area. Have viewed some good camera footage today but it didnt pop up. I wont give up till im back on the water. I use to work in wangara for 8 years so have spoken to old friends to keep an eye out on road tests ect ect...

Hopefully if it gets found it has a new shiny paint job and the bimini has been repaired...hahaha a man can only dream

My old man works in the area

Fri, 2012-03-09 09:00

My old man works in the area you mentioned and we live in landsdale. Come to think of it we've had a few boats in the area go missing of late.

His factory is wired with cctv so i'll get him to go over the footage have a look if he can pick anything up that might help. good luck
