best thing to do is get one
best thing to do is get one of the regular guys that knows sounders well to go out fishing for a day with you. You'll learn more in one day like that than any other way.
There is a book on " knowing your sounder" I'll try and find a link for it.
Also www.furuno.com has some info as well
Good luck,

It takes a strong fish to swim against the current. Even a dead one can float with it

The "mark" button is used to
The "mark" button is used to store a waypoint when it is interfaced with a Furuno GPS.
The "mode" button lets you select the type of screen you want to use- normal, bottom zoom, bottom lock, high frequency, low frequency, dual frequency, nav mode.
I run mine in manual with A-scope on, and on either normal mode when trolling for gamefish or in bottom lock when bottom fishing. Adjust the gain as you need it and the contrast sometimes needs fiddling with depending on the sun.
Hope this helps.
