lucky you :) if youve been
lucky you :)
if youve been getting runs and no hook ups id be looking into your rigs ..
most crew will use 9/0 + snelled with heavy mono (80lb for rays, 130 lb for small sharks) any sinker set up will do wether its a running sinker or a big star/snapper sinker on a dropper from a 3 way swivel.
if you still cant land one then drive down here and go for your life .. good luck stopping some of the big buggers tho :)

i chase rays and sharks
i chase rays and sharks minimum 1-2 times a week and i find that rays pick up anything, especially if the bait is lying on the floor. Running 6/0 bead sinker to swivel, then 100lb leader to tripple snelled 5/0-8/0 octopus is the best rig i've used for rays by far. Best bait has gotta be whole squid next to fillet/butterflied whole fish. If i chase rays, its always whole squid used, either fresh or bought doesnt matter. My shark rig is tripple 7/0 octopus on 150lb nylon coated wire trace as a running hook rig with 1m leader to a 6oz impact sinker. And for sharks, mainly any fish that bleeds alot. Mullet probably first choice then tuna heads.
